Amethyst forms when silica-rich fluids fill cavities in volcanic rock and slowly grow quartz crystals over time, often deep underground where heat and pressure help shape those iconic purple tones.
It’s basically quartz that spent a long time learning how to be dramatic in the best possible way.
 
For this piece, I used flowing copper gallery wire to frame the stone like a little doorway or window. The warm copper tones twist and curl around it like vines or storybook branches, giving the whole pendant a slightly magical, old-world feel—like something you’d find hanging in a forest cottage or tucked into a wizard’s pocket.
 
Amethyst gets its purple color from natural trace amounts of iron and exposure to radiation deep within the Earth over millions of years. In ancient times, people believed it could protect against overindulgence and keep the mind clear—so it was often worn by travelers and storytellers.
 
A whimsical little piece of Earth magic—hand-wrapped in copper, full of sparkle, and just a little bit spellbound.
