I just finished wrapping this beautiful Blue Owyhee Opal in copper wire, and I can't stop admiring the soft blue color. I have done every wrap by hand, making this a one-of-a-kind piece that won't ever be duplicated exactly.
Blue Owyhee Opal comes from the rugged Owyhee region of eastern Oregon, a remote high-desert landscape known for its volcanic history and breathtaking canyons. Millions of years ago, silica-rich water moved through ancient volcanic rock, slowly forming the opal we see today.
Unlike precious opal, Blue Owyhee Opal is prized for its dreamy sky-blue color rather than flashes of rainbow fire. The calming blue tones pair beautifully with warm copper, giving this pendant a natural, earthy feel.
Whether you're a rockhound, gemstone lover, or just appreciate handmade jewelry with a story behind it, this pendant carries a little piece of Oregon's volcanic past. Handmade by me, wrapped in copper, and ready for its next adventure.
