I’ve got to tell you about this piece I just finished—it’s a wire-wrapped fossilized clam shell pendant, it honestly feels like holding a little piece of ancient ocean history.
 
The shell started out as a real clam living in a prehistoric sea millions of years ago. Over time, it was buried under layers of sediment where minerals slowly replaced the original shell material in a process called fossilization. What’s left behind is this beautifully preserved form in stone.
 
What I love most is how it feels like it’s just a shell and no a fossil. Clam shells are bivalves, and even fossilized, you can still see that soft symmetry and flowing texture that once helped the animal survive in shifting tides and sandy seafloors.
 
I wrapped this one by hand in sterling silver wire, following the shape instead of forcing it. It turned out and kind of timeless. The kind of piece you could wear every day or just keep close because it feels grounding.
 
It’s wild to think something that started in an ancient ocean ended up as jewelry you can wear today.
