I've always loved Scolecite because of its soft, silky-looking crystal structure. The natural fibers grow in delicate sprays that almost look like tiny frozen feathers or brushstrokes. Every piece is a little different, which makes working with it so much fun.
For this pendant, I chose warm copper gallery wire because it complements the creamy white stone so nicely. The copper gives it an earthy, rustic feel while letting the unique texture of the Scolecite take center stage.
One interesting thing about Scolecite is that it's part of the zeolite mineral family and forms in volcanic rock cavities over thousands of years. Nature really is the best artist.
I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out. It feels simple, elegant, and a little bit magical all at the same time.
